Stellar Glow Humbucker:

Crafted to deliver warm vintage clarity with a smooth high end and spongy attack. This PAF inspired humbucker excels for clean melodic tones as well as creamy solos. Works very well when mixed in with a bridge humbucker by adjusting the volume knob to taste. Slightly more scooped with a softer bottom end relative to the Cosmic Triumph.

Cosmic Triumph Humbucker:

Crafted to deliver a balanced modern tone with PAF inspired clarity. There is generous high end while minimizing any shrill treble frequencies. Excels for clean tones as well as solos. Mixes in well with a bridge humbucker. Offers a relatively tighter organic tone with a responsive attack. Slightly flatter/mid-focused EQ and more forward attack relative to the Stellar Glow. Some players may perceive the Cosmic Triumph as slightly brighter and higher in output relative to the Stellar Glow.

Bridge Pickups

Jovian Storm Humbucker:

Crafted to deliver the clarity of a PAF style humbucker but with a little extra punch. There is plenty of bite and a forward punchy attack, while minimizing any shrill treble frequencies. Jovian Storm is designed to provide a tight bottom end which commands attention and facilitates anything from classic rock to tight chugging metal tones. At the same time, clarity and dynamics remain the primary objective. This pickup delivers high gain rock tones with the volume knob at 10 and the tone rolled back to taste. Roll the volume back and find the sweet spot for blues and lower gain applications as the pickup can clean up and maintain its high end.

Volcanic Rain Humbucker:

Crafted for those who value the clarity and response of a PAF but want something that can push an amp and deliver a thicker more powerful tone. This is Sonic Soup’s vision for a higher output passive humbucker with character. When some people think about high output passive pickups, they associate these pickups with a somewhat shrill high end treble and muddy low mid frequencies. Volcanic Rain is designed to address both of those issues while delivering a “hot” humbucker that excites your amplifier. There is plenty of bite and high end, yet the top end is rounded sufficiently to minimize ear fatigue. The low end thumps but remains tight and clear. The mids are thick and warm, yet clear and responsive. This pickup is more organic and versatile relative to the Atomic Wrath.

Atomic Wrath Humbucker:

Crafted for players seeking a high output bridge humbucker appropriate for hard rock and heavy metal. This pickup delivers an aggressive rock tone with plenty of power and bite while maintaining relatively clear mids and a tight punchy bottom end. This is Sonic Soup’s no compromise answer to those seeking aggression and attitude. This pickup is only available in an aggressive looking uncovered version with two rows of hex screw slugs and a short-leg baseplate. Atomic Wrath will be perceived as slightly brighter and more scooped relative to the Volcanic Rain.

Customization

All Sonic Soup pickups are hand constructed and customized in direct response to orders. After you place an order, you will be sent a link to an online form which walks you through all your cosmetic design choices. All pickups offer the following options:

  • Baseplates are available in long-leg or short-leg variations.

  • Lead wire is available in vintage style braided 2-conductor or shielded 4-conductor.

  • Pole pieces and slugs are available in nickel, gold or black.

  • All pickups are available with or without covers

    • Covered humbuckers are available in nickel, gold or black.

    • Exposed bobbins are available in black or zebra.

  • Aging/Relicing is available for a small up-charge. Reach out for more specifics.

All pickups are shipped within 1-3 weeks of placing an order. For now Sonic Soup only ships within the United States.
